چکیده
Abstract Coal-conversion technologies, although used ubiquitously, are often discredited due to high pollutant emissions, thereby emphasizing a dire need optimize the combustion process. The co-firing of coal/biomass in fluidized bed reactor has been an efficient way pollutants emission. Herein, new model designed Aspen Plus® simultaneously include detailed reaction kinetics, volatile compositions, tar combustion, and hydrodynamics reactor. Validation process was done with variations fuel including high-sulfur Spanish lignite, high-ash Ekibastuz coal, wood pellets, locally collected municipal solid waste (MSW) temperature ranging from 1073 1223 K. composition exhaust gases, namely, CO/CO 2 /NO/SO were determined be within 2% experimental observations. Co-combustion local MSW coal had flue gas 1000 5000 ppm CO, 16.2%–17.2% CO , 200–550 NO, 130–210 SO . A sensitivity analysis on biomass demonstrated optimal operating for at 1148 K recommended biomass-to-coal ratio is 1/4, leading minimum emissions

Hydrogen-Rich Gas Production by Cogasification of Coal and Biomass in an Intermittent Fluidized Bed
This paper presents the experimental results of cogasification of coal and biomass in an intermittent fluidized bed reactor, aiming to investigate the influences of operation parameters such as gasification temperature (T), steam to biomass mass ratio (SBMR), and biomass to coal mass ratio (BCMR) on hydrogen-rich (H2-rich) gas production. The results show that H2-rich gas free of N2 dilution is...
متن کاملEmissions and Furnace Gas Temperature for Electricity Generation via Co-firing of Coal and Biomass
The emissions of carbon dioxide and nitrogen and sulphur oxides for electricity generation with coal and biomass co-firing are investigated and the furnace gas temperature assessed. The study uses simulation and considers fuel combinations based on two coals (bituminous coal, lignite) and four types of biomass (rice husk, sawdust, chicken litter, refused derived fuel). With increasing biomass, ...
متن کاملBiomass Gasification in Fluidized Bed Gasifiers Modeling and Simulation
Using woody biomass as a resource for production of biofuel, heat and power through gasification has been studied for years. In order to reduce the cost of operating and to design the full-scale gasification plant developing a general model to be applicable for different ranges of input data with acceptable level of accuracy, is needed. In order to develop such model for the gasifier, as the ma...
متن کاملProcess Analysis and Control Design for Coal Gasification in Recirculating Fluidized-bed Reactor
A most widespread method for coal gasification is the use of fluidized bed reactors. A new concept in recirculating fluidized bed gasification is the Judd twocompartment gasifier. The two compartments provide separated zones for gasification with steam and for combustion with air, within the same vessel. The circulation of inert solids transmits the heat from the combustion zone into the gasifi...
متن کاملSimulation of Biomass Gasification in Fluidized Bed Using Aspen Plus
Gasification is a thermo-chemical process to convert carbon-based compounds such as biomass and coal into a gaseous fuel. Among the various types of gasification methods, fluidized bed gasification is one which is considered as more efficient method than others as biomass is fluidized in a mixture of air/oxygen and steam. In the present study, a comprehensive steady state process model has been...
